Welcome to the world of guitarist Matt Davis. Matt has been exploring and interpreting this world through music since his childhood.
His songs are maps, timelines; pieces of memories and emotions. They are prayers. They are also the songs of growing up as the youngest of seven children on a farm in New Jersey; of playing duets with his grandmother, and listening to old records on her record player. His songs are the experience of coming to Philadelphia and graduating from Temple University, playing countless gigs, paying ‘dues’, and slowly weaving his own thread into the fabric of that city’s immense musical tapestry.
His dearest song is one of thanks- thanks to all of the talented people who have helped in the explorations, his mother and father for all of their support, all of his teachers - past and present, his friends, Philadelphia, the big bang, and you.
